The FOROST data portal runs using a web-standard HTML-PHP-MySQL environment. Images may be hosted anywhere on the web, and the search engine is served from forensicosteology.org. FOROST.org, osteologiaforense.org and forensicosteology.com also map to forensicosteology.org. The FOROST database is a scaled-down osteological data array that has basic case information on specimens from several institutions. Users can search by bone, trauma, or injury type. If a user needs to observe the presentation of blunt force trauma on the frontal bone, he or she searches the database using these parameters. A list of specimens and institutions will emerge. By clicking a specimen in the list, a user will be sent to the owning institution's server space for an image of the specimen.
